More than a dozen law enforcement officers converge on an apartment complex in Grand Junction after cornering two suspects in a stolen vehicle incident Sunday afternoon.
Grand Junction Police and Mesa County Sheriff's Deputies had been looking for the Chevy Silverado pick-up throughout Sunday morning, after it was stolen in the 400 block of Anjou Avenue Saturday night.
Grand Junction Police spotted the vehicle around noon Sunday and when spotted, the two unarmed suspects ducked into an apartment complex off of Belford Avenue, then entered an unlocked apartment to hide out. Once inside the apartment, more than a dozen officers with the Grand Junction Police Department and Mesa County Sheriff's Office responded to the scene as a precaution.
"When the two suspects ran inside, we didn't know what to expect," Sergeant Josh Warner of the Mesa County Sheriff's Office said.
Ron Silva and David Qualar, both of Grand Junction, were arrested without incident and are facing charges of auto theft.
