Representative Scott Tipton from Cortez officially announced he will be running for candidacy in the Third Congressional District race, which is currently held by Democrat John Salazar. During a press conference Thursday in front of the old Mesa County Courthouse, Tipton tells supporters he plans to tackle issues such as healthcare and quality of education. In addition he says the Third Congressional district needs a work horse. Tipton also made stops in Cortez and Pueblo today on his announcement tour.
