Three young men have a trip to Colorado they will never forget.
The trio went rafting along the Colorado River when their raft capsized after hitting a pylon under the 5th Street bridge. Two of the rafters were able to make it back on the raft but a third continued to get swept down the river.
Two of the men were from Texas while the third was from New Jersey. Mesa County Search and Rescue responded to the call and put a rescue boat in the water to retrieve the one individual who was stranded in the river.
No one was injured and all three said they wanted to thank Mesa County Search and Rescue for the help. It is unknown whether the three were actually wearing their life jackets when the raft flipped. But search and rescue suggests rafters should always wear their life jackets to keep from potentially drowning in the still strong currents.
