Hundreds of Grand Valley residents made their way to a special two–day fair, in an effort to find out how to track family history and lineage.
The 2006 Family History Fair gave those interested in genealogy the opportunity to talk to heritage experts or enthusiasts to see how to either get started or break through road blocks that can come about during the process.
Fair–goers also had the opportunity to participate in a DNA project for a group of Utah researchers that hope to use DNA to reconstruct worldwide genealogies. Those in attendance say while tracing their roots is educational and enjoyable, it's not a one step process.
If you missed the fair but are interested in tracking your family's history, you can find out more on the Mesa County Genealogical Society by going to their website at www.gj–mesa.com/mcgs.
