Quick thinking by an 11–year–old girl prevents a structure fire from causing extensive damage to a Grand Junction residence. The fire was reported around 8 O'clock Sunday night. With a backyard shed fully engulfed, three engines and a battalion chief were called to the blaze which destroyed the shed that housed an ATV and a restored older model Ford Mustang. Although once on–scene firefighters were able to knock down the fire quickly, they were aided by not only the 11–year–old resident, but several surrounding neighbors. Total losses in the fire are estimated at around $12,000.
