The safety of electric cars on public roadways is being debated across the country. These electric cars are referred to as “zap” cars which stands for “zero air pollution.”
The vehicles don’t use any gas and can travel at speeds up to 40 miles per hour. Some people have raised safety questions about allowing slower moving electric cars to drive in regular traffic; but advocates say technology has improved and the cars are now quick enough to compete in traffic.
Zap cars are already being used in some urban areas for such things as delivering pizza.
