Denver (AP)-The state's largest labor organization, the A-F-L-C-I-O is endorsing democratic gubernatorial candidate Bill Ritter. President Steve Adams says Ritter —quote— ``has the youth and
the vitality to be one of the strongest governors we've ever had.'' Adams says Ritter supports issues that are most important to
working families, including health care, jobs, the economy and good
schools. The union represents about 100–thousand working families
statewide. Ritter — a former Denver district attorney — was a member of laborers' local 720 for several years while he worked as a pipe
layer to pay his way through college and law school. Ritter's father was a heavy–equipment operator who belonged to the operating engineers union.
