City To Begin Search For New Police Chief

The City of Grand Junction announces today its' choice of Bob Murray and Associates to conduct the search for a new police chief for the city.

California–based Murray And Associates has helped cities across the country hire more than 100 police chiefs. Murray and Grand Junction City Manager Kelly Arnold began the process of selecting a new police chief yesterday by interviewing a panel composed of community leaders, police officers and city staff.

Murray says he expects 35 to 40 applicants, possibly including interim Chief Bill Gardner. Applicant interviews are expected to begin in July, with a final selection sometime in the fall. The search is expected to cost the city about 20 thousand dollars.
