Plans to resurrect, restore and preserve a historic 1800s trading trail with ties to Grand Junction is underway.
The Old Spanish Trail was a route used by traders between 1829 and 1848, to get their goods from New Mexico to California. Grand Junction is part of the northern branch and representatives from the Bureau of Land Management and National Parks Service were on hand Monday to take comments from residents who are interested in the project to preserve the trail.
Public comment is being accepted until May 17 and Management plans should be completed by 2008.
