The BLM is getting ready to dedicate its new multiple-use recreation area in the Gunnison Gorge National Conservation Area. Crews with the BLM made final preperations Friday at the site that will serve as the gateway to the Gunnison Gorge NCA just south of the town of Olathe. The new recreation site is located within the conservation area's 9,700 flat-top Peach Valley Off Highway Vehicle Management Area. The site was designated by the BLM as part of its new NCA resource management plan. Visitors to the recreation site can take advantage of picnic tables, restrooms, informational kiosks, and an off highway vehicle training area. The BLM will dedicate the recreation site Saturday at 10:00 am. The festivities will continue until 3:00 pm and will include lunch, natural resource exhibits, motorcycle safety demonstrations, and guided hikes.
