Man who died in rollover crash identified

GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. The man who died last night in a rollover accident on Redlands Parkway has been identified.

The Mesa County Coroner’s Office says 20-year old Michael Ray Petersen of Grand Junction was not wearing a seat belt and was intoxicated during the accident.

The cause of death is blunt force head injuries and the manner of death is accident.

The vehicle rollover happened just before midnight on Redlands Parkway near Greenbelt Drive.

Grand Junction Police say the man was driving southbound on Redlands Parkway when he veered to the right, hit a guardrail, drove back across the road and then rolled on an embankment where the vehicle landed upside down.
