The Western Colorado Peace Officer's Association honored some members of the law enforcement community Thursday night. The Peace Officer's Association is a non–profit group that provides training to law enforcement agencies who do not have the budget to provide its own training.
The group was founded in the 1950s on a foundation of coming together to meet and train. The awards ceremony held Thursday night honored members of local law enforcement for their team work and dedication.
Two new awards where handed out. One of those was the Unsung Heroes Award, which recognizes cases that numerous agencies work together to solve.
