A man who was considered a person of interest by police in a weekend shooting has died after being shot by authorities today. The incident happened on Orchard Mesa at 10:50 a.m. Members of the Western Colorado Drug Task Force authorities were led to Orchard Mesa Lanes with a tip regarding a person of interested the shooting of Rebecca Carroll over the weekend. Officials have not stated if there was an exchange of gunfire, but officials have confirmed they found a gun found at the scene. The man, whose name has not been released, was transported to St. Mary's Hospital where was pronounced dead. A female was also taken into custody and is being questioned at this time. A witness at the scene says he heard four gunshots.
