The legislative session has come to a close and Mesa State walks away with 7 million dollars to build a new educational building on campus. Representative Bernie Buescher, Senator Ron Teck and representative Josh Penry fought for the Mesa State funding and for a majority of the session it looked like Governor Owens was going to reject the funding for the college. At the last minute western slope lawmakers were able to secure the Governor's support for the project. The planning stage will begin for the educational building very soon. It is estimated that construction will begin next spring or summer.
