Fire Causes Tens Of Thousands Of Dollars In Damage

According to the Grand Junction Fire Department the fire at 1225 Kennedy Avenue broke out around 1:00 a.m. Saturday and while the blaze took just a few minutes to contain. It took firefighters more than two hours to complete the mop up work which included extinguishing hot spots and completing the on–scene investigation. The cause of the fire is still unknown. However, arson has been ruled out the building sustained approximately $100,000 in structural damage. While nearly $30,000 in interior content was lost in the fire.
