Video will be available shortly.

Local and national bluegrass bands come to string their banjos and guitars at the Old Blue Memorial Day Weekend Bluegrass Music Festival.

This is the 9th year for the festival at the Doubletree in Grand Junction.
Some of the bands travel all the way from Nashville, California, and New York.

Bluegrass developed as a style of music in the mid-1940s. It is considered a form of American roots music. Bill Monroe of the band the Blue Grass Boys is known as the founding father of bluegrass.
