The woman who was critically injured in a car crash Sunday near Paonia has been identified. 49–year–old Edith Young of Paonia remains in critical condition at St. Mary's Hospital. Young was transported there yesterday afternoon via care flight . According to the Colorado State Patrol, Young was driving a Dodge Dakota on Samuel Wade Road just outside Paonia when she missed a turn in the road.
Her truck rolled nearly three times ejecting her, she was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the accident. Officials believe inattentive driving may have caused the crash.
