The Lower Valley Fire District responded to a dog bite incident Saturday afternoon at a house in Fruita.
A woman was visiting this home in the two hundred block of South Peach Street about 1:00 pm when a dog reportedly bit her multiple times.
Authorities say the woman was transported to St. Mary's Hospital with minor injuries. The Fruita Police Department was called to assist in the incident. The dog was chained to a tree in its yard. Emergency responders say the dog's owner was not home at the time of the incident.
The dog has been taken into the custody of the Mesa County Animal Control for a ten day quarantine.
