Measures 3A and 3B on the November Ballot would provided $185 million to District 51 for five new schools, operating costs for the new schools, maintenance costs at current schools and funds to purchase land for future schools.
Approving 3A would allow Mesa County's School District 51's taxes to be increased to $6 million annually by authorizing an additional levy of ad valorem property taxes for the 2010-2011 budget.
Home owners with a house at a market value of $250,000 would see an increase in property taxes of $207 a year.
3A can't be passed without 3B's approval.
