Fruita Police Searching For Car Jacking Suspects

Police in Fruita are looking into a car jacking at a hotel Wednesday morning.

The incident happened around 6 a.m. at the La Quinta Inn on Raptor Rd.
and according to police, the late–model Audi, owned by a white male in his 20's was taken by unknown assailants.

There was a weapon used in the car jacking, however, at this time police are not sure what type of weapon, saying only it was not a fire arm.

The vehicle was recovered on North Ave. in Grand Junction several hours later and the victim in the incident was not injured. Police are exploring several leads, but do not have any suspects in custody.
