Some horse riders got a chance to show of their equestrian skills Saturday in the Grand Junction Horse Show.
The competition is sponsored by the Grand Junction Horse Show Association, and all ages were invited to compete. Riders are judged on everything from confirmation, which is how close the horse looks to its ideal breed; and showmanship, where the rider presents pride of ownership and handling of the horse.
The Grand Junction Horse Show Association holds four shows in a season. The final show will be in September, and will benefit one of the club's founding members who passed away last year.
