The addition of three new schools to the Mesa County Valley School District 51 means it's time to hire more bus drivers.

Two of the new schools, Rim Rock Elementary and Fruita 8–9, are in Fruita. The other new school is Pear Park Elementary. This brings the total to 40 schools district wide. That's why Laidlaw is adding some more buses to its fleet and looking for more drivers.

Currently, the company is down 15 drivers; but they expect to be fully staffed by the time the new school year is underway.
