It's a process that happens every 10 years or so, as the Colorado Division of Wildlife asks gamesmen for their input on animal population management.
Monday at the DOW's Grand Junction office, officials held the last in a series of meetings pertaining to the deer and elk populations on the Grand Mesa. Public input dictates the number of hunting licenses issued for various areas and so far the input has been positive.
If you missed the meetings, public comment will be taken until September 6, you can find a questionnaire on the DOW's website at www.wildlife.state.co.us.
