Two youths are in custody at the Department of Youth Corrections after being caught with computer equipment stolen from local schools.
The two males were seen walking near Broadway Elementary School just after midnight Sunday and were stopped by Mesa County Sheriff's Deputies, who were tipped off by an alarm. During questioning they allowed the deputies to conduct a search of their backpacks, and inside deputies found computer parts.
The two eventually admitted to breaking into Broadway Elementary as well as Redlands Middle School. They are charged with two counts of burglary second degree theft, felony criminal mischief and possession of burglary tools.
