Mesa County School District 51 Officials are still tallying the numbers but estimates show that enrollment is up.
According to District Spokesperson Jeff Kirtland, after the first day of school it looks as though there are roughly 800 more students than there were last year. Kirtland says they won't know the exact number of students until October first when the District performs it's official head count. Last year there were about 25–thousand students enrolled.
