Want to start a neighborhood watch program but don't where to start? The Mesa County Sheriff's Office has formed a new Community Policing Unit that can help.
Along with helping county residents set up and maintain neighborhood watch programs, the Community Policing Unit, or CPU, will also assist the sheriff's office with graffiti removal requests, arrange for McGruff the crime dog to make appearances, and take requests for vacation checks and extra patrols for citizens. CPU is made up completely of volunteers.
