Hotel Workers On Alert After Housekeeper Assault

Some area housekeepers say yesterday's assault of a hotel worker gives them second thoughts about job safety and they plan to do something about it.

Yesterday a woman working at the Quality Inn on Horizon Drive was assaulted when she returned to a vacant room after leaving to get supplies. Fortunately the woman was not raped and a suspect was apprehended, but that still doesn't end the fear some workers have that they could be next.

Molly Watkins works at a local hotel. She says she is worried for her own safety is taking a self-defense class, and thinks that in light of what happened yesterday innkeepers might consider classes in self–defense for all female employees.
