Over twelve thousand people came out to Main street today to dance, eat and drink, in spirit of the 25th annual Oktoberfest celebration.
The festivities included German–sing–a–longs, live entertainment, German food and cold beer.
Although most people associate beer and brats with Oktoberfest, there is actually a story behind the celebration.
Mike Moran, Event Coordinator, says, "It started in the 1800's in Germany, it was a wedding celebration, so very appropriate. There was a royal wedding, but they decided to have a huge party and it turned into a block party and a main street event across Germany and the world."
All of the partying wrapped up tonight, so if you missed out you are going to have to wait until next year to see what it's all about.
