Traffic jammed Tuesday's flu shot clinic at the Lincoln Park barn...so much so that at least one car waiting in line ran out of gas. As of 11 this morning 700 people had received shots, and at one point the line looped through the parking lot past Stocker Stadium to the Parks and Recreation office.
It was also busy inside the barn today as people lined up for shots. After several cancellations due to delays in vaccine shipments, Mesa County Health Department spokesperson Kristy Westerman says there has been enough vaccine for today, but whether there will be another shipment in time for additional scheduled clinics is still up in the air. She suggests that people listen to media reports or contact the Health Department for more information.
The next flu shot clinic is planned for November 1st and will take place at numerous locations in the county from Collbran to Gateway. At this time the clinics are expected to be open to everyone regardless of age or health.
