A Union Pacific railroad worker was killed in an accident in Cisco, Utah Thursday afternoon.

According to Grand County Chief Deputy Curt Brewer, 46–year–old Nelson Begay of Pinon, Arizona was one of several men working on track repairs in the remote area about 25 miles west of the Colorado–Utah state line. Brewer says a piece of repair equipment struck another piece, causing it to roll on the tracks over the man.

Begay was pronounced dead at the scene.

This is the second rail–related fatal accident in the Cisco area in less than a year. Last December an Amtrak train hit an oil company contractor's truck at a crossing, killing the driver instantly.
