All Beirdel Colescot wanted was a new heater for her home. Instead, she is getting a complete winterization thanks to the Low Income Energy Assistance Program or LEAP.
This year the program is celebrating it's 30th anniversary. Operated locally by Housing Resources of Western Colorado, low-income homeowners can receive a wide variety of services including new insulated windows, heaters and ducting, and wall and ceiling insulation.
If Colescot paid for all the work being done on her home it would cost her ten–thousand dollars. Instead she's paying nothing, and the work will save her at least 50 percent on her monthly bills.
