The deadline is fast approaching to make an application with the Salvation Army for holiday assistance. Spokesperson Laura Bailey says anyone can qualify for assistance for food and toys, but the deadline is this Friday. Families can receive enough food to get through the holidays as well as toys for children and teens.
The Salvation Army still needs toys, especially for teenagers. So far they have enough toys for about 800 children, and the need is for 1500.
For assistance or to drop off toys, contact the Salvation Army or stop by their office on Fourth Street north of North Avenue in Grand Junction.
