A third Grand Junction High School Student has been arrested in a plan to trade a weapon for an unknown item. The plot hatched over the weekend when one boy had something another 15–year–old wanted, and the weapon was stolen from a parent to trade.
Monday it was discovered the boy had brought the weapon onto a Mesa County District 51 school bus. Two of the students were later arrested at an off–campus location. There was no indication the students planned to harm anyone, but the students face serious charges, including burglary. Monday night the student possessing the weapon was brought to the police department by his parents. He faces an additional charge of bringing a weapon onto a bus, which is considered school property.
All three face burglary charges because they plotted together to have the weapon stolen to use in the trade.
