Merry Christmas! Hospice Gets Big Gift

It's proving to be a very merry Christmas for Hospice and Palliative Care of Western Colorado as the non–profit announces another big grant to the group.

The organization's new campus built around a Victorian house on 12th street will see a lot of work starting soon. Just a week after announcing the receipt of a 450–thousand-dollar state Community Development Block Grant. Today the group says it's received a half–million–dollar challenge grant from Michigan–based Kresge Foundation.
These new funds will go a long way to building a new inpatient care facility, which will be the first in-patient facility for terminally-ill patients between Denver and Salt Lake City.

Hospice has chosen FCI Constructors to build the new facility,
which should be going up early next year behind the Miller Homestead.
The renovation of the home-- the centerpiece of the new campus for Hospice--is also nearing completion. The home will hold supportive services for the grieving as well as a coffee shop and park–like landscaping for the public.
