The snow is causing only minimal delays for the commercial carriers at Walker Field Airport, but it's a different story for some of the chartered planes. Bruce Lietzke and his family had been skiing at Beaver Creek Ski resort this past week. They were due to fly out of Eagle County Airport, but because of the snow, the airport was closed.
Lietzke and his family took a taxi to Grand Junction Sunday, and were supposed to take –off in a charter jet, but they were grounded once again because their plane got stuck in the mud. Although Lietzke and his family were delayed, they said they had a good meal to eat and their spirits are high.
