He battled discrimination through non–violent actions and brought his dream for a better America to life.

On Monday, men and women of all ages around the nation and the Grand Valley came together to celebrate the birth, life, and dream of Martin Luther King Jr.

"He led the way, he didn't send others. He was in the middle of it all. A lot of times he went to jail, but he marched at the front and that's why he has given so much hope," says Grand Junction Resident, Josephine Dickey.

Dozens marched through down town Grand Junction, holding signs and singing out praise for Martin Luther King Jr., as he is remembered as the man who was willing to stand up for what he thought was wrong.
