Mardi Gras came a little early for some people in Palisade Sunday.
The German American Club of Grand Junction held their 2nd Annual Fasching Celebration. Fasching, which means to drive out winter, is like Mardi Gras in New Orleans, and is celebrated in every city in Germany with costumes, food, dancing, and of course beer.
Fasching is the culmination of the pre – Lenten Carnival season. The final celebration and the biggest is on Fat Tuesday, the day before Ash Wednesday.
