Hundreds packed the Montrose Pavilion tonight, all for the Montrose Economic Development Corporation's 50th anniversary celebration and to hear Governor Bill Ritter's take on development.
The MEDC's mission fits right into Governor Ritter's outlook for Colorado, which includes agricultural development, enticing global companies to relocate to not only the Western Slope but throughout the Centennial state and in addition to oil and gas development, vigorously delving into the future of the energy industry.
"Wind power, solar power, bio fuels. These technologies can coexist with traditional economy. Colorado can play a leadership role in making us as a country energy independent," Governor Ritter said.
Before swinging over to the Montrose Pavilion, Governor Ritter swore in Judge Jeffery Herron as the newest addition to the 7th Judicial District.
