Mesa State College Praised For Use of Renewable Energy

Mesa State College is receiving recognition from Governor Bill Ritter for its use of renewable energy.

Friday morning Tom Plant with the Governor's Office of Energy Management and Conservation visited the college. Plant praised students for raising money to install solar panels on top of the science building. He also commended the college on its plans to use Geo–Thermal Technology in the new classroom building that will be constructed this summer.

Using Geo–Thermal on the new classroom building could possibly save the college anywhere from $40,000 to $43,000 a year in energy costs.
