Firework Shoots Scheduled For Fruita Tonight

In years past the Lower Valley Fire Protection District has put on a fireworks display out at the Country Jam Ranch, but this year they're switching things up and hope that more people will be able to enjoy the show from home.

The city of Fruita has teamed up with the fire department to hold its firework extravaganza. To decide where to shoot the fireworks from the fire department will be doing two test shoots tonight. One will be at 8:00 and the other at 8:30.

Fruita residents are asked to call in after the test shoots and tell the city's recreation department whether they could see the fireworks. The number is 858-0360 or e-mail them at recreation@fruita.org.

The fireworks show will be held July Third in Fruita. The city has purchased about $10,000 worth of fireworks for the show. 11 News is a proud sponsor of the event.
