Dog Remains On The Loose Near Walker Field Airport


It's turned into a waiting game for those trying to catch a loose dog out at Walker Field Airport.

Wednesday Mesa County Animal Services set a trap out at the airport to catch a loose dog.

Airport officials fear the dog may wander on the airport and cause an accident. The dog has been roaming the grounds of Walker Field for more than two weeks.

Officials had hoped the dog would take the bait and go into this humane trap but so far no luck. The trap did however catch a different dog. A 1 1/2 year old Australian Cattle Dog was found in it. The dog is described as golden with a white and blue collar with no ID tags on. It's being held at the Mesa County Animal Shelter.

The dog officials want to catch is believed to be husky mix or possibly a hybrid wolf.
