Plenty of questions surround a shooting in Clifton Friday afternoon and at this time the Mesa County Sheriff's Office has no answers.
EMS and police responded to the Peachtree Plaza in Clifton around 4:30 p.m. Thursday for a report of a self-inflicted gun shot wound victim.
According to the sheriff's office, it appears the unidentified man was shot in the stomach but they do not know if it happened in or outside of the Chevy Cobalt he was driving.
A woman passenger was interviewed by police and was later released.
Officials say they will not be able to determine if the shooting was suspicious until they talk to the man, who is currently at St. Mary's Hospital for treatment for his injuries.
