Warrant Issued For Armed Man In Parachute

An arrest warrant has been issued for an armed man who sent much of the town of Parachute into lock–down Wednesday.

Parachute Police have issued a warrant for 21-year-old Jared Burtard on charges of felony menacing.

Police spent much of the day Wednesday searching for Burtard.
At around 10:30 a.m., police responded to a domestic violence call involving Burtard. Officials say he was fighting with his brother– in– law when he left the home with a loaded 22 Caliber Gun.

Authorities put out a reverse 911 call and told residents to stay in doors while they searched for Burtard.

Police believe he may be in the DeBeque area.
