The Mesa County Sheriff's Office is investigating the death of a 15–year–old boy.
Officials say the boy died Wednesday at the Alternative Youth Adventure camp.
At about three o'clock, remote deputies and an investigator responded to the south fork of Mesa Creek on a report that the teen wasn't breathing.
An autopsy performed by the Mesa County Coroner shows the boy literally dropped dead. The coroner says information is still being gathered as to why the boy suddenly died, but they believe it was from natural causes.
11 News will have more on this investigation as details become available.
The Alternative Youth Adventure Program is designed for at–risk youth between the ages of 12 and 18.
