Colorado Springs, Colo. (AP) Colorado Springs police say a service at a breakaway Episcopal parish was disrupted when a man threw a pie at the pastor, who ducked.

Parishioners chased the suspect down.

Police say 18-year-old Marcus Hyde was released but faces misdemeanor charges including harassment.

The suspect allegedly said he was passing judgment on the Reverend Donald Armstrong when he tossed the pie yesterday at Grace Church and St. Stephen's Parish.

The Episcopal Diocese of Colorado last year moved to suspend Armstrong over allegations of financial misconduct. Armstrong has denied wrongdoing.

Armstrong returned to Grace Church in March, when church leaders voted to leave the Episcopal church, saying they were upset over the national church's liberal theological direction.
