A fire in a Grand Junction home Tuesday night leaves residents without a place to stay. Grand Junction fire crews responded to the home at 928 White Avenue at about 10:30 and found heavy smoke.
Crews on the scene say the fire most likely started in the kitchen. The house is split into multiple units. Residents were bringing trash bags full of their belongings out of the house when crews arrived.
The American Red Cross was on scene providing assistance to the residents inside the home that had no place to stay.
Officials estimate the fire caused about $8,000 in damage. The cause of the fire is unknown.
