The ratings are based on access to care, quality of service, and patient satisfaction. The facility ranked first in access to care and satisfaction.
Outstanding patient services are nothing new to the Grand Junction VA Center; in 2001, it received the Presidential Award for Quality. It is the only center to ever receive that honor.
The VA Center services 37,000 veterans on the Western Slope.
