Forget spending money on gas for your car, two–wheel drive is the way to go around Downtown Grand Junction as the fourth annual Wells Fargo Bike Festival gets underway.

The Grand Valley is famous for bike riding, racing and trails. So dozens of parents bring their kids to the Downtown Bike Festival on Saturday to introduce them to this popular sport. Obstacle courses were scattered along main street, each resembling a different mountain biking condition. There were thrills and a lot of spills as the little ones took to the courses.

The bike festival is the brain child of Chris Brown, the owner of Brown Cycles on Main Street. The festival also included a historic bicycle tour along the streets of Downtown as well as a bicycle sculpture contest.
