Man Arrested For Alleged Kidnapping; Police Seek Second Suspect

A man is behind bars after allegedly attempting to abduct an 11-year-old girl in Delta, but another suspect involved in the case remains at large.

Rhys Owen Tudor was arrested just after 11:00 Tuesday morning on charges of first degree kidnapping.

Acting on a tip, Delta Police asked the Grand Junction Police Department to search a Belford Avenue apartment for the suspect. When they did they found Tudor inside.

Tudor is being held at the Mesa County Jail on a $150,000 bond.

Police say Tudor and an unidentified man grabbed an 11-year-old girl from the backyard of a Delta home on Monday. Officials say when the abductors lessened their grip on the girl she was able to hit and kick them and run away.

The suspect police are seeking is described as white with hazel eyes and a dark complexion. Police say he speaks with an accent and may be missing a front tooth.

Police say the attempted abduction was not random and that it appears the girl was targeted.

Anyone with information about this case is asked to call officials immediately.
