Two Leadville Teens Die In Suspected DUI Crash

A suspected drunk driving crash leaves two Colorado teenagers dead.

It happened before dawn Sunday on Lake County Road 2–A, approximately two miles south of Leadville.

According to the Colorado State Patrol, a small SUV driven by 19–year–old Benjamin Young, of Leadville, was southbound on Lake County Road 2–A.

Young lost control and ended up rolling the vehicle down an embankment.

There were two passengers in the vehicle, 18-year-old Andrew Goerdt and 17-year-old Analisa Romero, both of Leadville.

None of the occupants were wearing seatbelts and all three were ejected from the vehicle.

The driver and the female passenger were pronounced dead at the scene while the other passenger suffered only minor injuries.

Alcohol is suspected as a factor in the crash.
